Becoming a Donor Egg donors are healthy, fertile young women who undergo in vitro fertilization and egg harvesting in order to give another woman the ultimate gift--a baby of her own. RS of NY reimburses egg donors $5000 for their time, trouble, and travel expenses. Egg Donor Questionnaire Egg donors are women between the ages of 21 and 32 years old who have been screened for good health, good reproductive function, and psychological stability. We look for women who are motivated to help others and will complete the program. The donors are also screened for sexually-transmitted diseases, substance abuse (with a drug screen), and common genetic diseases.
